Redefining Possibilities: Armstrong Steel's Solution for a Floating Boathouse
Steve, a retired dentist from Longview, Washington, wanted a boathouse, but didn’t want the same run down wood buildings everyone else in the marina had. Steve wanted a high quality steel building, something that was going to look better and last longer. While traditional steel buildings are typically erected on solid ground, Steve's unconventional request posed a challenge that few companies were willing to undertake. However, Steve's search led him to Armstrong Steel, a company known for its innovative approach and willingness to tackle complex projects.
"I chose Armstrong steel because I was very impressed with your personnel and felt very confident with your company," Steve recalled, reflecting on his initial decision to partner with Armstrong. "The quality of the Armstrong building is top notch. It's indestructible, low maintenance, and the construction quality with the different materials that you used and surfaces, the galvanized purlins and girts, was a big factor in your quality."
Despite the unconventional nature of Steve's project, Armstrong Steel rose to the occasion, leveraging its expertise in design and engineering to create a customized solution. "The building is a little unique because it's obviously floating on water which makes things a little difficult to build with a moving platform instead of a stationary land platform," Steve explained, highlighting the logistical challenges involved in erecting a steel building on a floating platform.
Armstrong's team of experts worked to ensure that every aspect of the project was meticulously planned and executed. "Any question that you would have during the construction of your building or the planning of your building is handled promptly. There's no phone tag business going on, it's all a very smooth and seamless communication process," Steve praised, emphasizing Armstrong's commitment to clear and efficient communication throughout the process.
With Armstrong's guidance and expertise, Steve's vision became a reality. "Thanks, Armstrong Steel. Love the building, enjoy it for years and years to come," Steve expressed, gratitude evident in his words as he marveled at the completed boathouse and man cave.
Steve's project serves as a testament to Armstrong Steel's ability to think outside the box and deliver innovative solutions to meet the unique needs of its customers. By embracing challenges and pushing the boundaries of traditional construction methods, Armstrong Steel continues to set the standard for excellence in the industry.
