This detail illustrates the connection of the roof purlin to a rigid frame rafter in buildings with a liner panel or liner system insulation, including the flange brace clip, rafter flange brace, welded flange brace clip, and rake angle along the roof edge.
The roof purlin spans along the rigid frame rafter, connecting through the liner panel using (2) 1/2" x 1-1/4" A307 bolts with (4) washers, one washer on each side of each bolt, clamping through the purlin web, liner panel, and rafter web.
A flange brace clip (BC-46) is fastened through the liner panel to the rafter flange using (4) member screws, and the rafter flange brace is bolted to the clip using (2) 1/2" x 1-1/4" A325 bolts with (4) washers. A welded flange brace clip further along the rafter is shop-welded in place ahead of time, giving the brace a second attachment point using the same A325 bolts and washers.
At the roof edge, a rake angle is installed along the top of the rafter to provide a finished edge and support for the roof panel termination, secured using (1) member screw SDS.
