This detail illustrates the installation of wainscot trim at the transition between wainscot panels (lower wall) and standard wall panels (upper wall) using a cee girt. Wainscot provides a durable, often different-colored lower wall section.
The wainscot panel is installed on the lower portion of the wall, secured to girts using member screws at 5"/7"/5" O.C. in wainscot color (see detail Screw_1). Inside closure seals the top of the wainscot panel.
A transition angle (L 4 x 2 x 16 ga.) is installed at the cee girt location, providing a structural transition point. The wainscot trim (Q237) covers the transition, with a 1/4" reveal at the top. The wainscot trim is secured using member screws at 12" O.C. in wall color.
The wall panel above is installed with inside closure at the bottom, secured to girts using member screws at 5"/7"/5" O.C. in wall color (see detail Screw_1).
