Trim 51

This detail illustrates the installation of head (header) and sill trim at framed openings for both non-glass (overhead doors) and fixed glass (window) applications. The detail shows how wall panels terminate at the header and sill, and how trim components create finished, weather-tight transitions.

For the header condition, wall panels are secured above the opening using member screws at 5"/7"/5" O.C. in wall color (see detail Screw_1). Inside closure seals the panel ribs at the header. The head trim (HE) wraps around the header, and an optional header cover trim provides a finished look on the header face, secured with member screws at 12" O.C. in trim color. Select cover trim based on header/sill depth: Q370 (8"), AR371 (10"), or AR372 (12").

For the non-glass sill condition, the sill trim (HE) wraps the sill with inside closure sealing the panel ribs. Wall panels below are secured with member screws at 5"/7"/5" O.C., and an optional sill cover trim can be field installed. Member screws at 12" O.C. in trim color secure the cover trim.

For the fixed glass sill condition, a different sill trim (Q848) is used with stitch screws at 12" O.C. in trim color. Inside closure and member screws at 5"/7"/5" O.C. secure the wall panel below.
