This detail illustrates the connection of wall girts to an endwall column or door jamb using a bolted girt clip. This connection is used where girts terminate at columns along the endwall or at door jamb locations on either sidewall or endwall.
The bolted girt clip (BC-01) is a plate with pre-punched holes that attaches to the column web and provides a connection point for the girt. The entire assembly uses (6) 1/2" x 1-1/4" A307 bolts with (12) washers—one washer on each side of each bolt.
The girt connects to the clip with bolts through both the girt web and the clip.
When installing, first attach the bolted girt clip to the endwall column or door jamb, then position and secure the girt to the clip. Ensure the girt is level and properly aligned before fully tightening all bolts. This connection allows wall girts to support wall panels while framing around door openings or transitioning at endwall column locations.
