This detail illustrates the installation of a flat ridge cap at the peak of the building where the two roof slopes meet. This is a non-vented ridge condition.
The roof panels are installed on both slopes and terminate at the peak purlins, leaving a gap at the ridge. Outside closures are installed at the top of each roof panel to seal the panel ribs at the ridge opening. Apply 1" tape sealant at both the top and bottom of the outside closures to create a weather-tight seal.
Roof panels are secured to the peak purlins using member screws at 5"/7"/5" on center (Pattern A) in roof color (see detail Screw_2 for the full fastener pattern).
The flat ridge cap (UN) spans across both roof slopes, covering the outside closures and ridge opening. The ridge cap is secured using stitch screws at 12" on center in roof color along both edges. For ridge cap lap details where multiple ridge cap sections meet, see detail Screw_11.
Install rake trim and peak box prior to installing the ridge cap. The ridge cap should be located at the steel line.
