Every project we work with has a dedicated project manager. This professional is your point of contact for any concerns or changes in your building. They will be helping you throughout the process along with your shipping representative who will work with you to schedule a convenient delivery date and time.

Receive engineer-stamped plans

Our in-house engineers design blueprints for all our steel buildings. Your project manager will provide you with engineer-stamped blueprints, which you can submit to your local building permit authority

Are blueprints required to erect a steel building?

While not always required by local building authorities, our blueprints adhere to the strict standards of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association. This ensures your steel building is constructed to high-quality standards and will last for years to come.

Things to know about our delivery documents

Once you have scheduled your delivery date with us, our shipping department will coordinate with you and send the delivery documents indicating our schedule for delivering your steel buildings. Note that our dates are tentative and may change due to unforeseen delays. That said, you can rest assured that your project manager will keep you informed of any changes and potential delays.

Receiving and unloading your steel building kit

To ensure a smooth delivery and installation process, it’s important to be prepared. This will allow you to start assembling and erecting your building as soon as it arrives. Here are things to know:

We ship on a standard flatbed

At Armstrong Steel, we use a standard flatbed when shipping steel buildings to your construction site, so make sure that your site is accessible to a semi-truck. If it’s not, we’ll work with you to arrange a secondary delivery point.

Have a forklift on hand.

We recommend using a forklift to unload your steel building kit from our truck. At Armstrong Steel, we do our very best to make our service affordable. If you don’t have a forklift, find a reliable rental company or borrow from a colleague, neighbor, or friend.

We deliver to Hawaii and Alaska.

Yes, we can ship steel buildings to a port that will freight to Hawaii and Alaska. We will help you with any materials that your freight forwarder requires.

Our shipping department will inform you.

Before your steel building kit is delivered, our shipping department will contact you to discuss the specific details of your order. They will give you more information about the components included in your kit so you can verify everything upon delivery and tell us if there’s any damage or missing components.

What to do after receiving your Armstrong Steel building kit

Please make sure to go through your checklist on your Bill of Lading during the offload. After that is complete please make sure to do a timely inventory of your building. It is very rare, but with a large number of pieces for a steel building project occasionally something may not have delivered. If this is the case please report your claim within 5 days of receiving your delivery.

Our steel buildings are ready to assemble and erect as soon as they’re delivered. You can start your construction project and complete your building with your team.

Putting your building together

We customize the assembly drawings and anchor bolt patterns for all steel buildings. Simply follow our instructions to see where all the connections go. We have punched holes in all major connections, so you can bolt them together without welding. Moreover, most components are already cut and numbered to correspond with the drawings. When you’re ready to erect the structure, our step-by-step erection guide will tell you what to do.
